Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFGiven Data:
The ratio of weights of Ram, Shyam, and Mohan: 7 : 8 : 5
The average weight of Ram, Shyam, and Mohan: 80 kg
Concept Used: Ratio and Proportion, and Average Formula
Solution:
Total ratio units = 7 + 8 + 5 = 20 units
Total weight of Ram, Shyam, and Mohan = 80 kg x 3 = 240 kg
Weight of one ratio unit = 240 kg / 20 units = 12 kg/unit
Combined weight of Ram and Shyam = (7 units + 8 units) x 12 kg/unit = 180 kg
Average weight of Ram and Shyam = Combined weight / Number of people = 180 kg / 2 = 90 kg
Therefore, the average weight of Ram and Shyam is 90 kg.
