TNPSC Group 1 2025 Exam Date

In the TNPSC Annual Planner 2025 the TNPSC has released the exam date of the Combined Civil Services Preliminary Examination – I (Group 1 Services). The prelims exam will be held on 15th June 2025 in offline mode and follow an objective-type format in a single shift from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. TNPSC Group 1 Eligibility 2025

The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) sets the TNPSC Group 1 Eligibility for recruitment to Group 1 posts through a detailed notification.

• Candidates must be within the age limit of 21 to 34 years for Assistant Commissioner and 32 years for District Educational Officer.
• Candidates must have completed graduation in their respective fields.

TNPSC Group 1 Recruitment Selection Process

The TNPSC Group 1 selection process consists of three stages:

• The preliminary examination - It is atype of screening test.
• The Mains examination - It is a subjective-type written exam.Candidates who qualify for mains will further receive a call for an interview.
• The personal interview - It is the final phase of the selection process. The final TNPSC Group 1 merit list is based on total marks obtained in mains as well as oral tests.

TNPSC Group 1 Selection Process

While the preliminary exam for TNPSC Group 1 recruitment is objective type, the Mains exam is descriptive. The TNPSC Group 1 syllabus includes General Knowledge, General science, current affairs, history and culture of India, Indian National movements, Indian policy, Indian economy, and geography & much more.

• Preliminary examination: The duration of the exam is 3 hours. The paper consists of 200 multiple-choice questions. The total marks are 300. 175 questions will be from General Studies, and 25 questions will be from Mental Ability and Aptitude. Each correct answer is awarded 1.5 marks. There is no provision of negative marking.
• Mains examination: The duration of the exam is 3 hours. It is a descriptive writing exam of 100 marks. The mains exam consists of 3 General Studies papers. Each is of 250 marks. No negative marking will be there.
• Interview: Qualified candidates will receive a call for a personal interview. It will be an oral test of 100 marks.

TNPSC Group 1 Salary 2025

When the Salary is concerned, these Top level Officers get different allowances apart from the salary. General allowances include HRA, Medical allowance, City compensation allowance, other allowances, etc, which may vary according to the post. The general deduction also includes some per cent of gross salary which will be contributed to the pension scheme.

TNPSC Group 1 Result 2025

The TNPSC Group 1 2024 Result will be announced in a month or two after the examination is concluded. Candidates can download the TNPSC Group 1 2024 Result 2024 from the official website of TNPSC. The TNPSC will release the official Result for the Mains examination which is scheduled to be conducted in December, 2025.
