World Resources Institute (WRI) shows India as the 4th biggest emitter in greenhouse gas emissions.
India is followed by China, Mexico, and Brazil.

Important Points

Gases that trap heat in the atmosphere are called greenhouse gases.
They let sunlight pass through the atmosphere, but they prevent the heat that the sunlight brings from leaving the atmosphere.
The main gas of greenhouse gases is carbon dioxide (CO₂).
The other gases of greenhouse gases are methane (CH₄), Nitrous oxide (N₂O), Fluorinated gases, ozone (O₃), water vapor (H₂O).
