Shree Hanuman Vyayam Prasark Mandal (Akhara), — Amravati started a five-week summer course of indigenous activities (Set drills, Physical exercise, Simple martial arts etc.) in the year : 

Concept:

• Hanuman Vyayam Prasarak Mandal is popularly known as HVPM.
• This is a premier institute in India for physical training.
• Earlier it was referred to as Hanuman Akhada.

Explanation:

• It is situated in the heart of Amravati.
• It is a Voluntary, Social, Non-Political & Secular Institute, managed with democratic principles & practices.
• The Mandal in as early as 1924-25 initiated special courses during summer vacations for the outstation youths and for the In-service teachers.
• These classes and the certificates awarded by the Mandal, in the course of time, were recognized and considered as requisite qualifications for the appointment as physical education teachers in schools and colleges.
