Given:-

P1 = 4 × P2

P1 + P2 = 16 days

Calculation:-

The ratio of efficiency of P1 and P2 = 4 ∶ 1 

The ratio of time taken is inversely proportional to the ratio of efficiency 

The ratio of time taken by P1 and P2 = 1 ∶ 4 

Total work = Efficiency × time taken

= 16 × 5

= 80 units

Time taken by P1 = 80/4 = 20 days

The answer is 20 days.
