I.E. नियम 48 नुसार:
- इन्स्टॉलेशन आणि पृथ्वीच्या वायरिंगमधील इन्सुलेशन रोध अशा मूल्याचा असावा की गळती विद्युतप्रवाह भागाच्या 1/5000 किंवा पूर्ण लोड विद्युतप्रवाहाच्या 0.02 टक्के पेक्षा जास्त नसावा.
- लाइटिंग सर्किटमध्ये अनुज्ञेय व्होल्टेज ड्रॉप पुरवठा व्होल्टेजच्या 2% अधिक एक व्होल्ट आहे.
- पॉवर इंडस्ट्रियल सर्किटमध्ये जास्तीत जास्त परवानगीयोग्य व्होल्टेज ड्रॉप घोषित पुरवठा व्होल्टेजच्या 5% पेक्षा जास्त नसावे.
- कोणत्याही वायरिंगच्या स्थापनेचा इन्सुलेशन रोध 1MΩ पेक्षा कमी नसावा.
- पृथ्वीचा रोध एक Ω च्या मूल्यापेक्षा जास्त नसावा.
