Calculation:
From table 1,
The number of professors in the Physics discipline (Male + Female) = 40
From table 2,
The number of professors in the Physics discipline between the age group 25 - 34 = 30%
Now, All professors in the age group of 25 to 34,
⇒ 30% of 40
⇒ 12 ----(1)
According to the question,
Number of female professors = 25% of all professors (Male + Female) in the age group of 25 - 34
⇒ Female = (1/4) × (Male + Female)
⇒ Female = (1/4) × 12
⇒ Female = 3
⇒ Male = 12 - 3 = 9
∴ The total number of male professors in the age group of 25 - 34 is 9.
