Given:

Circumference of a circle is 58π cm.

Chord XY of length 42 cm.

Concept Used:

Circunference = 2πr

Calculation:

Circunference = 2πr

2πr = 58π 

r = 29 cm

In triangle XOP

XP = 21 cm

OX = 29 cm

Apply Pythagoras theorem

OX2  = OP2 + XP2

292 = OP2 + 212

OP2 = 841 - 441

OP2 = 400

OP = 20

Distance of this chord XY from the centre is 20 cm

∴ Option 2 is the correct answer.
