The Joint Entrance Exam for Polytechnics (JEXPO) was conducted by the West Bengal State Council of technical education WBSCTE. The Council conducted the exam on May 21, 2022 and the results were declared on June 11, 2022 on the official website. 

  • The JEXPO 2022 was conducted through pen and paper mode of examination.

What is JEXPO?

The West Bengal State Council of technical education (WBSCTE) offers many conducive courses for the candidates who have completed their higher school education. West Bengal State Council of Technical and Vocational Education and Skill Development (Technical Education Division) has various activities for conducting a number of courses at Diploma, Post Diploma, Certificate, Advanced Certificate, Short Term Vocational Training, Commercial Education level besides monitoring and affiliating the academic institutions conducting these courses and development of curricula for the purpose.

JEXPO Application Process 2022

The application process will be conducted through online mode only. The applicants must be vigilant while filling the application to prevent any mistakes. However, an application correction window will be provided to the candidates if they have to make changes in their application form. The step to fill the JEXPO exam application form are listed below:

Step 1: Go to the official website of the West Bengal State Council of Technical & Vocational Education and Skill Development. 

Step 2: Click on the Admission button on the homepage. 

Step 3: Select the Online Application option from the drop down menu. 

Step 4: Choose the JEXPO (admission to 1st year diploma courses) option. 

Step 5: Enter your personal details in the boxes provided

Step 6: Upload your photo and signature followed by academic details. 

Step 7: Pay Rs. 450 application fee to complete the application form.

Nationality 

Applications from Indian Nationals will only be considered. The council does not approve any candidates that do not possess Indian citizenship to appear in the exam. 

Age Limit 

There is no upper age limit to appear for the JEXPO exam. The Date of Birth of the applicant should not be after 01.07.2007.

Educational Qualification 

The applicant must have passed the 10th class examination from any recognized board with a minimum of 35% marks. 

JEXPO 2022 Admission Process

The steps in the admission process through the JEXPO 2022 are spread below:

  • JEXPO Application Form Filling: To begin the admission process, the applicant has to fill the application form available on the official website of the council. In this process, the candidates are required to fill in their personal and academic details to showcase their eligibility. 
  • Download the JEXPO Admit Card: Approved application will catalyze the issuance of the admit card. As clearly stated in the information brochure, candidates without the admit card will not be permitted to attempt the exam. 
  • Attend the JEXPO exam: The applicants will now have to report to the designated exam center as mentioned on the admit card. The procedure to attempt the exam will be explained by the invigilators present in the exam hall. 
  • Download the JEXPO Merit List: The result for the exam will be released in the form of a merit list. Individual scorecards will not be issued to the applicants.

JEXPO Exam Pattern 2022

The details of the JEXPO exam pattern are listed below: 

  •  JEXPO exam will be conducted through offline mode.
  • The candidates will be able to answer the Question paper in English and Bengali languages
  • The JEXPO Exam will contain Multiple-choice questions
  • A total of 100 questions will be asked in the examination
  • The test takers must complete the JEXPO exam within 2 hours. 
  • The marking scheme will be applied as follows: For each correct response, one mark will be awarded. For each incorrect answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted from the total score of the candidate.

JEXPO Admit Card 2022

The e-Admit Card will be published on the official website of the council for the candidates to download. To download the admit card, the candidates have to use their Application form number. The information brochure states that the Candidates must retain/ preserve their e–Admit Cards carefully till completion of the admission process for the academic session 2022-2023 and registration under the council. Steps to download the admit card are indicated below:

Step 1: Open the official website of JEXPO on your device. 

Step 2: Spot the Students option on the homepage. 

Step 3: Select the Admit Card option from the drop down menu. 

Step 4: Enter the required information on the given fields. 

Step 5: Press the Download Admit Card button to save the admit card on your computer. 

JEXPO 2022 Exam Center

The candidates must select their preferred choice of exam center while filing the application form. The exam center allocated by the authorities will be final and any requites for the changes will not be entertained. JEXPO 2022 Answer Key/Response Key

The exam conducting body will release the answer key once the JEXPO exam has been conducted. To download the answer key, the candidates will have to enter the required details generated at the time of registration. The candidates will also be given the opportunity to challenge the answer key if they witness any errors or descprpancies. To challenge the answer key, the candidates must know all the details like, Set Name, Question Number, and grievance and these details must be mentioned in the email. also , the candidates must attach the requisite documents to support their answers. 

Step 1: Open the official website of JEXPO. 

Step 2: Search for the 'JEXPO 2023 Answer Key' tab on the notification handle.

Step 3: Select the same after entering the exam portal using the login credentials such as ID and DOB.

Step 4: Click on the Submit button, the Set wise provisional JEXPO Answer Key will be displayed on your screen. 

Step 5: Download and save the answer key for further use. 

JEXPO 2022 Result and Scorecard

The result will be made public on the official website of the council. The Council will not

communicate the result to any individual applicant. No Rank Card will be issued by the Council to the merit listed candidates individually. There is no provision for post-publication scrutiny or review and inspection and hence any such requiets will not be entertained.

JEXPO Counseling Round 2022

The counselling session will commence after the JEXPO exam has been conducted in all the exam cities. In the counseling session, the candidates will be grated seats in the participating colleges. The candidates must carry the required documents like rank card, admit card, application form, academic mark sheets and identity proofs to claim their eligibility. Candidates will have to take admission within the date mentioned in the allotment letter. Failure to take admission within the stipulated date will make the candidate ineligible for the offered seat and the vacant seat will be allotted to any other eligible candidate.

Important Points About JEXPO 2022

Some of the important points that the candidates must not miss are listed below:

  • The candidature of an applicant will stand automatically cancelled at any point of time if he/she fails to produce any of the requisite supporting documents during counselling / admission / registration towards fulfillment of eligibility and other criteria prescribed by the Council.
  • Candidates who are outside West Bengal should declare them as ‘General’ category only in the Application Form. 
  • Applicants will not be allowed to use graph papers, log tables, calculators, cell phones, mobile or other electronic gadgets in the examination hall.
