Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFGiven:
Investment ratio of A : B : C = 5 : 10 : 12
C withdraws half of his capital after 6 months.
Total profit = ₹1,48,000
Formula used:
Profit share is proportional to Investment × Time.
Calculation:
Let the investments of A, B, and C be ₹5x, ₹10x, and ₹12x respectively.
Time for A and B = 12 months, Time for C = 6 months at full capital + 6 months at half capital.
C’s adjusted investment = 12x (for first 6 months) + 6x (for next 6 months).
Total investment-time ratio:
⇒ A : B : C = (5x × 12) : (10x × 12) : (12x × 6 + 6x × 6)
⇒ A : B : C = 60x : 120x : (72x + 36x)
⇒ A : B : C = 60 : 120 : 108
⇒ A : B : C = 5 : 10 : 9
Total parts = 5 + 10 + 9 = 24
C’s share = \(\dfrac{9}{24}\) of ₹1,48,000
⇒ C’s share = ₹\(\dfrac{9 \times 148000}{24}\)
⇒ C’s share = ₹55,500
∴ The correct answer is option (3).
