Download Solution PDFNikhil and Neha invested capital in the ratio 5 ∶ 4. The time Neha invested her money for was one year more than that invested by Nikhil. The ratio of their profits is in the ratio 6 ∶ 5. Find the time Neha invested the money for.
Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFGiven:
Capital ratio of Nikhil and Neha = 5 ∶ 4
Profit ratio = 6 ∶ 5
Concept:
The formula for profit distribution is (capital × time).
Calculation:
Let the time invested by Nikhil be T, then time invested by Neha is (T+1).
⇒ 5T/4(T+1) = 6/5
⇒ 25T = 24T + 24
⇒ After solving this equation, T = 24.
Therefore, Neha invested the money for (T + 1) = 24 + 1 = 25 years.
∴ Option 4 is the correct answer.
