Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR)

• The Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) is an autonomous organization.
• It was established by the Government of India in the year 1969 to promote, review encourages, assist, and coordinate social science research.
• As a part of its Programme, six Regional Centers were set up across the country to act as a representative of the ICSSR to provide information and implement the programs and activities of the Council in the Region.
• ICSSR provide grants for projects, fellowships, international collaboration, capacity building, survey, publications, etc. to promote research in social sciences in India.
