संकल्पना:

आंशिक भिन्न विधि का प्रयोग करने पर 

\(\rm 1\over (x-a).(x -b) \) =  + 

गणना:

I = \(\int \rm \frac{{dx}}{{(x-2)\;\left( {x - 1} \right)}}\)

⇒ \(\rm 1\over (x-2).(x -1) \) =  + 

⇒ 1 = A(x - 1) + B(x - 2)

दोनों पक्षों में गुणांक की तुलना करने पर

x का गुणांक A + B = 0 है। 

स्थिरांक 1 का गुणांक = -A - 2B

समीकरण को हल करने पर हमें निम्न प्राप्त होता है

A = 1, B = -1

⇒ \(\int \rm \frac{{dx}}{{(x-2)\;\left( {x - 1} \right)}}\) = \(\int {dx\over (x-2)} \) - \(\int {dx\over (x-1)} \)

⇒ log|x - 2| - log|x - 1| + c
