Source transformation

The voltage source in series with the resistance can be converted into the current source in parallel with the same resistance.

Calculation:

From the circuit after converting 1 A and 1 Ω resistance we get

V = I × R

V = 1 × 1

V = 1 volts

Applying KCL at node A and V be the voltage.

2V = 2.5

V = 1.25 volts

Current through 2 Ω resistor is

I = 1.25 / 2

I = 0.625 A
