- একটি লাইট-এমিটিং ডায়োড (LED) হল একটি অর্ধপরিবাহী যন্ত্র, যা এর মধ্য দিয়ে কারেন্ট প্রবাহিত হলে আলো নির্গত করে।
- যখন ডায়োড ফরওয়ার্ড-বায়সড হয়, তখন সংখ্যালঘু ইলেকট্রনগুলি p → n -এ থেকে পাঠানো হয় এবং সংখ্যালঘু হোলগুলি n → p -এ থেকে পাঠানো হয়।

- আলোর রঙ সেমিকন্ডাক্টরের ব্যান্ড গ্যাপ অতিক্রম করার জন্য ইলেকট্রনগুলির জন্য প্রয়োজনীয় শক্তি দ্বারা নির্ধারিত হয়।
