Self-starter:

A starter (also self-starter, cranking motor, or starter motor) is a device used to rotate (crank) an internal-combustion engine so as to initiate the engine's operation under its own power.
Starters can be electric, pneumatic, or hydraulic.
The starter can also be another internal-combustion engine in the case, for instance, of very large engines, or diesel engines in agricultural or excavation applications.
As soon as the engine begins to run, it got disconnected from the engine, which now relies on the combustion process.
The component is mounted on the engine’s gearbox housing, and the starter motor gear meets the flywheel’s teeth.
The engine crankshaft must be rotated at a speed of a minimum of 100 rpm to start the engine.
This action is called engine cranking.
As it is hard to rotate the engine at that speed by hand or with a lever, a starter motor is used to crank the engine.
Principle: When a current is passed through an armature coil which is placed between two stationary magnets an emf is induced and the armature coil starts rotating.
