US President Donald Trump on Tuesday slammed Los Angeles protests and called it “a full-blown assault on peace, public order, and national sovereignty.” Trump made these statements at Fort Bragg in North Carolina on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the US Army. The event saw a campaign-style rally by the American President.
During his remarks, Trump tore into Los Angeles and pointed out that the city has undergone a massive transformation in a few decades. Denouncing the LA protests against his ‘mass deportation’, he said, “Within the span of a few decades, Los Angeles has gone from being one of the cleanest, safest and most beautiful cities on earth, to being a trash heap with entire neighbourhoods under the control of transnational gangs and criminal networks.”

He further stated that the world can now see how uncontrolled migration leads to chaos, dysfunction, and disorder. Meanwhile, he vowed that they would “liberate Los Angeles and make it free, clean, and safe again.” The US President also attacked California Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass during his address. He accused them of disbursing funds to the “troublemakers, agitators, and insurrectionists” to participate in the protests. “So sad what they’ve done to our country, he added.”
The latest reports confirm that Donald Trump warned of tougher action and sent an additional 2000 National Guard in Los Angeles. Notably, Tensions soared in Los Angeles as the protestors and immigration authorities continued to face off. The demonstrations that were held in the city of Paramount came after armed immigration authorities conducted workplace raids in different areas of Los Angeles. The action by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operation prompted angry crowds to carry out protests, leading to arrests.
