The tragic Air India crash in Ahmedabad on Thursday was one of the worst accidents in India’s aviation history. Almost everyone on the plane died, and only one person survived. Many of the peole who died were on their way to reunite with loved ones, start new jobs, or return home. One heartbreaking story was that of a family of five from Rajasthan, a husband, wife, and their three children who all lost their lives in the crash.

Dr. Kaumi Vyas, her husband Pratik Joshi, and their three children,Miraya Joshi, and twins Pradyut Joshi and Nakul Joshi, and twins Pradyut Joshi and Nakul Joshi were on the Air India flight that crashed. They were going to London to start a new life. The family came from Banswara city in Rajasthan, according to PTI.

While on the plane, Pratik Joshi took a selfie of his family. In the photo, all five of them are smiling. Pratik and his wife Kaumi Vyas are sitting next to each other, and their three children are sitting together on the other side. They all smiled for the camera. Kaumi Vyas shared a photo of their family on social media as they boarded the plane, according to PTI.

Family’s Dream of a New Life in London Ends in Tragedy

Dr. Kaumi Vyas worked at a private hospital, while her husband, Pratik Joshi, worked in London. He had come back to India to take his wife and their three children with him to live in London permanently. The family was on their way to begin a new life, but sadly, all of them died in the crash.

Deadly Air Crash: Over 240 Killed, Just One Survivor

The Air India flight AI171 had 242 people on board when it crashed. There were 230 passengers and 12 crew members. Sadly, 241 of them died, and only one person survived. That person is now getting medical treatment.

But the people on the flight were not the only ones who lost their lives. In total, at least 260 people died in the crash of the Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner.

The plane took off at 1:38 PM on June 12, but just 33 seconds later, it crashed near a residential area. It also hit an intern hostel building of BJ Medical College.
