The two important sporting leaders Jay Shah from ICC and Aleksander Čeferin from UEFA were seen together this weekend and both smiling beside the Champions League Trohpy. This surprise apperance happened a day before the Champions League Final on June 1 in Munich’s Allianz Arena between PSG and Inter Milan. Being there to see the outcome of the Champions League final isn’t a regular experience for the ICC Chairman. Yet Shah being involved in the run-up to the match indicates sports diplomacy is clearly on the rise and he is leaving his usual role behind to take part.
Aleksander Čeferin’s Statement After This Apperance
“I’m aware of the outstanding work Jay Shah has done to further grow the game,”
Infantino had said. “I wish you the very best in your mission and look forward to working together to make cricket even more global.”
