May 2, 2025, was a day of disappointment for Braun Strowman and his fans. On this date, WWE dropped a number of superstars, and Strowman’s name was among them. WWE Hall of Famer and veteran Kevin Nash has now chimed in regarding the situation, sharing more on the financial side of Strowman’s contract.
Kevin Nash Speaks Out About Strowman’s Pay
Guesting on a recent segment of KLIQ This, Kevin Nash was queried regarding Braun Strowman’s yearly salary in WWE. Nash replied:
“Braun Strowman was the most highly paid guy in that group. I would always go to my creative department and ask them before making any decisions. I would say, ‘Do we have something planned for him? No? Is there someone telling us to write something for him? No?’ If we don’t have anything for him, then why do we keep this person at that expense?”

Nash’s comments added more context to WWE’s decision, highlighting the balance between creative plans and financial investments.
Braun Strowman’s WWE Career: A Mixed Journey
This was Braun Strowman’s second release from WWE – the initial one being in 2022. His second tenure with WWE was less significant, with a majority of his appearances being limited to the mid-card. Yet, his initial stint was far more successful. Strowman had feuds with main stars and even won the Universal Championship during 2020, a critical achievement in his career.
What’s Next for Strowman?
A WWE return is doubtful at this point. It’s been assumed that Strowman himself may not want to come back. But he might be spotted in AEW very soon. With his vast wrestling background and physique, Tony Khan might think of making a solid offer for him.
