This mantra is first mentioned in the third division of the Rigveda, which is written in Anushtup verse. It is considered as one of the most sacred verses of Hinduism. This mantra is:
“ॐ भूर्भुवः स्वः तत्सवितुर्वरेण्यं भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि धियो यो नः प्रचोदयात्।”
“ॐ Bhurbhuva: Self -tatsviturvareyam bhargo devasya dhimhi dhiyo yo nah Prachodayat.”
Gayatri Jayanti Puja Vidhi:
1- On the day of Gayatri Jyanati, wake up early in the mroning, in the Brahma Bella and take a bath and wear pure clothes.
2- After this, install a picture or idol of Gayatri in the place of worship or temple and light a lamp of ghee or sesame oil.
3- Then get other gods including Gayatri Mata anointed with Ganga water. After this, remember Gayatri Mata carefully and contemplate her glory.
4- Offer fresh and clean flowers to mother Gayatri and offer it. Offer offerings, fruits, sweets or other sattvic foods in the form of indulgence.
5- Chant Gayatri Mantra at least 108 times. This chant can also be done 3 times: before sunrise, time of sunrise and day time.
6- Conclude the worship of mother Gayatri with the Aarti of Gayatri Mata.
7- On this day, donate to the needy according to your ability. This gives virtue and divine blessings Of Mata Gayatri.
