Ingredients

  • 12 dates (pitted)

  • ½ cup dark or milk chocolate (melted)

  • 1 tbsp coconut oil (optional for smooth chocolate)

  • ¼ cup crushed nuts (almonds pistachios or walnuts)

  • ¼ tsp sea salt (optional for a sweet-salty contrast)

  • ½ tsp shredded coconut (optional for garnish)

Step By Step Guide

Prepare The Dates

You can take any date for the recipe but Medjool dates are mostly preferred because they are sweet and big with delicious caramel-like flavour which can be ideal for chocolate dipped dates. Slice the date and remove the pit. You can stuff them with nuts, almond butter or cream cheese for extra richness.

Melt The Chocolate

Melt the chocolate in a microwave safe bowl and add coconut oil, stir it until it turns smooth.

Dip & Garnish

Dip each date into the melted chocolate. Place them on a parchment paper tray. You can sprinkle it with crushed nuts, sea salt or shredded coconut for a burst of flavour.

Chill & Serve

Refrigerate for a minimum 30 minutes until the chocolate hardens. Serve chilled for a delicious Iftar snack.
