Patanjali News: In today’s market, a wide variety of herbal and medicated toothpastes claim to clean teeth and provide relief from sensitivity. However, the high level of abrasives in some of these products can harm teeth and gums. A recent in-vitro study conducted by researchers at KLE Dental College in Belagavi compared the abrasive potential of three leading toothpaste brands—Colgate, Patanjali Dant Kanti, and Glister.
Methodology: Testing the Impact on Teeth
The study involved 42 human teeth and used a special brushing machine to simulate brushing over a 28-day period. Two different methods were used in the research. In the first phase, the surface roughness (Ra value) of each tooth was measured using a profilometer. Then, artificial cavities were created by immersing the teeth in a demineralizing solution.
Afterward, brushing was performed using the three types of toothpaste. A total of 16,000 brushing strokes were applied to each tooth. The Ra values were measured again post-brushing to assess the level of abrasion caused by each toothpaste.
Glister Shows Least Abrasion
Results revealed that among the three, Glister caused the least abrasion, followed by Patanjali Dant Kanti, and then Colgate. While both Colgate and Dant Kanti showed moderate wear on the demineralized tooth surfaces, Glister did not cause any significant changes.
Why Choosing the Right Toothpaste Matters
The research clearly indicated that the size and quantity of abrasive particles in toothpaste directly affect dental health. Using a toothpaste high in abrasives, especially when combined with a hard-bristled brush, can lead to tooth damage. Therefore, it is essential to select the right toothpaste to maintain oral health.
Why Patanjali Dant Kanti Stands Out
According to the study, Patanjali Dant Kanti is considered both organic and Ayurvedic, making it a suitable option for all age groups. The toothpaste is effective for everyone, eliminating the need for different products for each family member. Additionally, Patanjali Dant Kanti is affordable and free from harmful coloring agents, which could otherwise weaken teeth or gums.
This study underlines the importance of mindful product selection in oral care, with Patanjali Dant Kanti emerging as a balanced and safe choice for daily use.
