Who Is Jasbir Singh? Punjabi YouTuber With 1.1 Million Subscribers Caught Spying For Pakistan- How Is He Linked To The Arrested Jyoti Malhotra?

In a fresh twist, the Punjab Police have arrested another YouTuber for spying for Pakistan. Jasbir Singh, who runs the channel “Jaan Mahal” with over 1.1 million subscribers, was caught on Wednesday for his alleged involvement in a Pakistan-backed espionage network. Jasbir Singh is the second digital content creator to be arrested in recent weeks. Before him, Haryana-based Jyoti Malhotra was taken into custody. Investigators say that Jasbir was also in regular contact with Jyoti, linking the two in the ongoing spying case.

Who Is Jasbir Singh?

Jasbir Singh operates a YouTube channel called ‘Jaan Mahal’ which has 1.1 million subscribers. He is a resident of Mahlan village in Rupnagar. According to the police, Singh is associated with Pakistani intelligence operative (PIO) Shakir alias Jutt Randhawa, who is part of a terror-backed espionage network. Singh allegedly also maintained close contact with Haryana-based YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, who was arrested on charges of spying, and Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish, an expelled Pakistani High Commission official.

Jasbir Singh was also invited by Danish to the Pakistan National Day event held in Delhi. This is the same event where Jyoti Malhotra took part. Along with Jyoti, Jasbir reportedly interacted with Pakistani Army officials and bloggers there- said Punjab Police DGP. He has also been said to have travelled to Pakistan on three separate occasions in 2020, 2021, and 2024. Electronic devices that have been seized from him contained multiple Pakistan-based contact numbers, which are now under forensic analysis, said the DGP.

He Tried To Erase ‘Proofs’

According to DGP, Punjab Police, After the arrest of Jyoti Malhotra, Jasbir Singh tried to delete all records of his communication with the spying network. He was also in contact with another person of interest, Shakir, also known as Jutt Randhawa, who is believed to be a key figure in the terror-backed spying group. An FIR has been registered at the State Special Operations Cell (SSOC) in Mohali. According to the Punjab Police DGP, a full investigation is now underway to uncover the scale of the espionage network and identify others who may be involved.

He also maintained close contact with #Haryana-based #YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra (arrested for spying) and Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish, a #Pakistani national and expelled Pak High Commission official,” Punjab Police said in a post on X. “Investigations are underway to dismantle the broader espionage-terror network and identify all collaborators,” it added.

How Many Arrested?

So far, the Punjab Police has arrested seven people for allegedly spying for Pakistan. Among them, Falaksher Masih and Suraj Masih were taken into custody from Ajnala in Amritsar. A 31-year-old woman named Guzala and Yameen Mohamad, both residents of Malerkotla, were also arrested last month. Later, two more individuals- Sukhpreet Singh and Karanbir Singh- were arrested in Gurdaspur for allegedly sharing sensitive military information with Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the ISI.
