In a tragic incident, a 36-year-old man and his nine-year-old son were killed in a road accident in Tamil Nadu’s Coimbatore. The incident took place on the morning of June 13.
Father-son killed in road mishap
According to The Times of India, both were run over by a speeding tipper truck near Saravanampatti. The man has been identified as Rajesh, while his son has been identified as R Vinith.
According to police, Rajesh was employed with an IT firm in Keeranatham in Coimbatore district. He was living with his wife and two sons in an apartment. The incident occurred around 5 am when Rajesh was taking his son to a skating academy on a motorcycle.
Truck hit the motorcycle from behind
Rajesh took a left turn to the Kalapatti Road and the truck also took left turn and hit him from behind. Both fell on the road and came under the truck’s front wheel.
Upon receiving information, police rushed to the spot and sent their bodies for postmortem.
Pune: Women dead, man injured after truck hits scooter
On Jun 12, a 29-year-old woman lost her life and her father-in-law sustained injuries after a truck rammed into their scooter at Gangadham Chowk in Pune, police said.
Providing details of the incident, a police official said, “The accident occurred around 11:15 AM when a truck bearing registration number MH 14 AS 8852 collided with a scooter from behind as the two-wheeler was moving ahead after the traffic signal turned green.”
Jagdish Pannalal Soni (61) was riding the scooter with his daughter-in-law, Dipali Yuvraj Soni (29), as a pillion.
Truck hit scooter from rear side
“The truck struck the scooter from the rear and side. Dipali Soni died on the spot. Jagdish Soni was taken to Spiral Hospital, and his condition is stable,” the official added.
He added, “The truck has been seized, and the driver, identified as Shaukat Ali Papalal Kulkundi (51), a resident of Bhavani Peth, Pune, has been taken into custody. His medical examination is underway.”
