Tamil Nadu: A shocking incident recently unfolded during a temple festival in Tamil Nadu’s Virudhunagar district. At least three members of a family, including a 7-month pregnant woman, were reportedly killed due to electrocution in Kariseri village. According to officials, the deaths took place after a person named Thiruppathi touched the exposed wire during the installation of the loudspeaker. Reports revealed that his grandmother and pregnant wife also died while attempting to save him.
Two Other Injured Rushed To Hospital
At the same time, two other people who also sustained injuries were rushed to a nearby government hospital. While speaking to ANI, Virudhunagar District Collector Jeyaseelan said, “A temple festival is currently taking place in Kariseri village, Virudhunagar district. During the festival, loudspeaker installation work was underway. At that time, a person named Thiruppathi accidentally touched a wire that was carrying electricity for the loudspeakers. He was electrocuted and died on the spot.”
Three Die In Electrocution Accident In Tamil Nadu
In a similar incident that took place in Tamil Nadu recently, three people, including two children, were electrocuted to death. The incident reportedly occurred in Andarpuram in the Namakkal district. As per reports, Selvam had leased land in the area for cotton cultivation. On Monday, he went with his wife and two grandchildren to irrigate his agricultural land.
Wife And Grandchildren Electrocuted To Death
When his wife kept her hand on a wire fence for support, she got electrocuted along with her grandchildren. The wire fence was connected to an electric pole, and all three died on the spot. Following the tragic incident, the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) cautioned people. The electricity was disconnected. Meanwhile, the deceased’s bodies were shifted to the Namakkal Government Medical College Hospital for an autopsy.
