IMD Weather LIVE Update: Scorching heatwave in Delhi continued on Tuesday with temperature soaring to 43.8°C. Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department has predicted maximum temperatures hitting 44-46°C today. While an orange alert is in place for the heatwave in the national capital and NCR regions, the other affected places include West and East Rajasthan.
Additionally, no relief from the ongoing heat is in sight for East & West Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and North Madhya Pradesh. The Weather Body has also forecast hot and humid weather conditions to continue over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, and Odisha. While extreme temperatures will be witnessed in these places in the coming days, several states will likely experience respite due to rain.
Intense downpour is expected over Andaman & Nicobar Islands on 12th June; Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim during 13th-16th June; Odisha during 14th-16th June; Madhya Maharashtra on the 11th; Marathawada during 11th-14th; Konkan & Goa during 12th-16th June. South India, including Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala & Mahe, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Karnataka, Rayalaseema, and Telangana, must also brace for more rain.

Strong surface winds with speeds ranging from 50 to 60 kmph are very likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam and Rayalaseema from June 11 to 12, and over Kerala & Mahe and the Lakshadweep region on June 14.
Isolated heavy rainfall is also expected over the Andaman & Nicobar Islands on June 12, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim from June 13 to 16, and Odisha from June 14 to 16.
