Faridabad, Haryana: A disturbing case emerged from Faridabad on Tuesday, where a 45-year-old man died by suicide after jumping in front of a train along with his four children. All five were killed within a flash of seconds. Chilling revelations have now been made in the case. According to reports, the deceased father, identified as Manoj Mahato, who hailed from Bihar, took the extreme step over an alleged dispute with his wife.
It was learnt that he left the house yesterday morning after an argument broke out between the two. He reportedly told his wife that he was taking their children to a park. Later, he offered his kids cold drinks and chips before taking them to the railway tracks to die. What’s even more shocking and heartbreaking is that the children tried to escape from their father’s arms as he clutched them tightly.
The incident occurred around 12.55 pm when the Golden Temple Express train was on its way to the Ballabgarh station. The 45-year-old was spotted walking along the track with his four children. He held the hands of two kids while carrying the other two on his shoulders. Reports added that the loco pilot of the train repeatedly honked the train, but the man stood along the track and jumped as it approached.
The deceased children were identified as Murli (5), Chotu (3), Pawan (10), and Karu (9). While removing the bodies from the railway track, Police recovered a note from Mahato’s pocket. It had his wife’s phone number written on it, reports added. According to GRP SHO, Inspector Rajpal, the reason for committing suicide could be his wife’s unfaithfulness.
