A shocking case of abuse has come to light at a private rehabilitation center near Bengaluru. An inmate was reportedly beaten badly after he refused to wash the warden’s clothes and clean the toilet.
The incident happened inside the rehab center, which falls under the Nelmangala Rural Police area. Authorities took quick action after a disturbing video of the assault began circulating.
The CCTV footage shows a patient being brutally and repeatedly beaten with a stick by a man, while others stood by and did nothing. The patient was dragged several times during the attack. Later, another man joined in and continued beating him with a stick. The footage is from a private rehabilitation center located about 30 kilometers from Bengaluru.

According to the Police…
According to the CK Baba, Superintendent of Police for Rural Bengaluru, the footage clearly shows a resident of the centre being mercilessly attacked by staff members.
“This incident occurred at a private rehabilitation centre. The visuals show a person who had come to stay at the facility being physically attacked. The footage is from a rehab centre that falls under the jurisdiction of the Nelamangala Rural Police Limits. The assault took place within the premises and has recently come to public attention, though it’s old,” he said.
Police Take Action After Abuse at Rehab Centre
The Bengaluru Rural Police have raided the rehabilitation centre and filed a complain against both the warden and the owner for the assault. A case was registered on their own (suo motu) at the Nelamangala Police Station, and legal steps have begun. The police have added serious charges, including the Arms Act.
The case grew bigger after another video came out, showing people at the centre using a dagger to cut a cake during a birthday party. “Everyone seen in the footage, including those involved in the birthday celebration where a dagger was used to cut the cake, has been arrested,” confirmed CK Baba.
